David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.
Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
An official for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.
The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
A Prolific Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
